The Temple

You know that Jerusalem’s Temple played an enormous role in Jewish history and that even through the thousands of years since it’s loss, it still looms large. But you’re not sure why.

The relatively short time you will spend reading these essays should provide some good insight into the meaning, structure and history of the Temple. Once you’re finished, you’ll be well equipped to head out on your own. Perhaps to tackle the related sections of the Talmud called Middos and Tamid, or maybe to finally understand those difficult passages of Ezekiel (from chapter 40 on) and I Kings (ch. 8).

And you won’t be completely lost when you one day visit the third Temple either. But we’ll talk about that later.
