It so true that G-d will grant our prayers when pray with sincerity. I am not a Jew, but this how I pray, I love you O Lord with all my heart, with all my mind, with all my strength. Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God, the Lord in one. Thank you for today and tomorrow and thank you for the blessings. - L. H. -1/1-/2007 |

I heard a story about a man who was sick and doctors could not find a cure for him. One day as he was going down the steps of a hospital, he said to H-shem, "I always say the B'rocho of Asher Yotzar with good kavanah -intent, can You please heal me in that merit" - and he was healed soon after. He is known as a miracle case. -0/2-/2007 |

I had a dream last night. I was taking a group of children to the bathroom and was leaving a village. Then a Jewish man with curly reddish blond hair pulled me aside and said he had to tell me something. I thought maybe the kids did something wrong. He simply said next time you go to the bathroom you pray a Jewish bathroom prayer. I said okay and said Shalom and then I woke up. So this morning this dream bothered me. I am not a full Jew. Both my husband and I have Jewish grandmothers. So I decided to look up the internet to see if this really existed. I am elated to hear that this is not crazy and it makes sense. Thank you. - O. I try to say this Bracha with Kavana (concentration and proper intent), but it's so easy to take everything for granted. Already 2 weeks later, the sensitivity has begun to diminish. With Hashem's help, perhaps your timely article will add to my ability to sustain that Kavana longer.

[At the risk of being redundant, I'll try again]
I wrote the above, and then, 2 years later had another kidney stone. I had it removed via an "outpatient" procedure. When I awoke, I had a pulmonary edema (which I had never had anything like before) and was a "guest" of the hospital for 2 days. Since that time I have said this brocha with more kavanna than any other. May H' help me to daven better in general, and may it NOT require similar "prodding"

AS A PARENT OF A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD, I FOUND THIS ARTICLE OF EXTREME IMPORTANCE TO GO ON BELIEVING THAT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO US HAS A REASON. I HOPE TO REINSTITUTE THIS PRAYER IN MY DAILY ACTIVITY.

Wanted you to know that your story about the "bathroom blessing" is still blessing others. - V. V. -0/2-/2004 |

That was a beautiful story - thank you. I like the idea of teaching the prayer to young people - they are so energetic and funny and shy at the same time about bodily functions. I think the ones who laugh and giggle the most - are the ones who later stand in awe of the simple things that really are blessings.... - N. P. -1/2-/2003 |

We cannot thank Hashem enough for His blessings. We are wonderfully made and should thank Him for everything.

I think that the chofetz chaim writes that saying the blessing with kavana would avoid any health problems.
In the current day and age, this is obviously something needing strengthening! -0/2-/2002 |

Thank you for expressing this beautiful concept that we all should think about. I discovered the bracha's meaning after a burst appendix. We can also think about being thankful that today, with Hashem's help, doctors can heal so many serious conditions to allow us to continue living and serving G-d. - E. B. -0/2-/2002 |

Often the common things in our life are
not appreciated. The test of our
thankfulness is recognizing these,
as well as the larger events that
every eye can see. - W. L. -0/2-/2002 |

Thank you. A week ago Monday I was take to the ER where, when all was over they told me I had passed a kidney stone. My only symptom up to the sudden pain was difficulty using the privy. I try to say this Bracha with Kavana (concentration and proper intent), but it's so easy to take everything for granted. Already 2 weeks later, the sensitivity has begun to diminish. With Hashem's help, perhaps your timely article will add to my ability to sustain that Kavana longer. - E. . -0/2-/2002 |
