I strongly agree with you. I believe it is not only the right but the obligation as well for people to defend themselves. If we Americans would have never stood up against the terrorists and anyone who supports them, ie..Mullah Omar and the Taliban, then people would continue to push us around. They would perceive us as weak. Peace is what people want, but sometimes it is achieved through conflict. Peace and Blessings to you and Israel.

While I am not Jewish, I fully support your position. I fear we live in a time where "what is", has no meaning, but "what appears", is very significant. When I read the news of the aimless slaughter wrought upon the Jews I am sickened to the core. This can happen time and again with no call for peace. If the Jews defend themselves, they are criticized and shallow Europeans see a need to promote their so called desires for a peace plan. It is all images. I voted for Bush, and yet I am as dissapointed with him as I was the predecessors. We call the September 11th butchery, "terrorism", and yet we have a way whole different language of images to describe the targeted slaughter of young innocent Jewish girls, getting ready for their weddings and family celebrations. I could never believe that so called highly educated and intelligent people could look upon the constant slaughter of the innocent as opportunities for political posturing and peace awards.

True words were outlined in your news release - keep up the good work and maybe as we begin to celebrate the holiday of Passover - it will be true "next year in Jerusalem".

If Hashem wants peace for us, it will happen, but as long as the jewish people are swimming in mitrayim's milk, and yidden turn from torah, the problems will not go away. Pray for moshiach and say tehillim.

Arafat will always be part of the problem and never part of a peaceful solution. World leadership is necessary to put pressure on him in ways that will make a difference. One thing I would like to see is for the US to take the lead role in educating or reeducating the Palestinians on the real facts by whatever means necessary. Like most problems, education is the key to beginning a peace process. Until this happens there is no chance for real peace.

You are wrong, very wrong. The suicide bombers are killing Israelis and visitors to Israel and they dont care if they are Jews, Christians or Muslims. This is not a race or even a religious conflict, this is a nationalistic conflict about territory.

"..much of the "civilized" world in effect condones these killings by its inaction, its biased positions on the dispute, its public stance in support of the killers and its pathetic sense of relative morality and hypocritical evenhandedness." Does this incrimination include you and the 5 million Jews who are living comfortably in America and doing nothing or little more than giving pontificating "lip service" to this critical cause?

An apocryphal story about Golda Meir may help in understanding some of the points that Rabbi Wein has pointed out in his lesson. In 1947 Mrs. Meir is reported to have said concerning the imagined U.S. reaction to the declaration of the Stae of Israel, "remember that all of their diplomacy which concerns us will be based on Arab oil." The truth of that statement is as powerful in 2002 as in 1947. Jews need to realize one simple fact, when the life of one single Jew becomes more exensive to conserve than keeping the price of a gallon of gas under $2.00 in the U.S. then Washington's pressure on Israel will take on a whole new dimension. The Arab world knows this, the power structure in D.C. knows this, but will never admit to the fact. Some may say I am an extremist but consider just one fact. When was the last time that Israel was allowed to truly defend itself against terrorist aggression without the approbation of our powerful friend the United States. We are on our own in this situation. Never Again is a slogan which needs personalization. The slogan should read "Never Again Arafat", or "Never Again Prince Saud". I am not enough of a Biblical scholar to know who every bit of earth belongs to, but if there is to be another injustice in in Middle East let us spread it out over everyone and share the load. As it is the world wants Israel to take the whole thing on our backs. "Never Again" may have lost its currency, but always remember oil has not lost its 'currency'.
