I cried when I read this. I am safe in the US but I have friends in the war zone. I know Jews who have become so angry that the only emotion they can express in words is the desire for vengence -- and cast all Arabs into the same mold, that of the terrorist. This scares me. If we lose our souls and become like the terrorists, the terrorists will have won. - C. H. -0/3-/2002 |

As a Jewish person in the diaspora I am in pain and wish for Shalom. Most of what you write is probably true but are you not demonising and dehumanising the Palestinians a little in the same way that they demonise and dehumanise us? - P. F. -0/3-/2002 |

With saddness I agree, I do not see how this can be resolved for the very reasons you have sited. Watching the news and the revision of history as these people look right in the camera with a straight face. Even the news man was a gasp at the deft way in which they retooled history, and they recite it with belief. I fear the worst for Israel. I pray for the brave soliders and people there. - D. The "celebrations" of mass murder, which we have seen again and again, seem surreal and the world tries to pretend they aren't happening. They boggle the mind. But Michael Freund faces the facts and articulates them startlingly well. And yet my mind is still trying to believe it isn't so when I know that it is. - M. W. -0/3-/2002 |

I think that there will be peace only as Golda Meir said "When the Arabs love their children more than they hate us" - R. M. -0/3-/2002 |
